Very accommodating staff. My mother has mobility issues and everything was done to make sure she had a great experience at the theater
It was amazing. We saw A Mentira and all was fabulous. The actors were simply great. Cast is fantastic. When the act finished they did a Q&A session with all the spectators. It was a wonderful moment. Great job, well done! You will make me come again to see A Verdade.
A well-equipped contemporary theatre house.
One of the best theaters in Lisbon

The New Theater Group – Teatro Aberto - was founded in 1982 by theater professionals, João Lourenço, Irene Cruz, Rui Mendes and Morais e Castro (the famous Group 4). Since then, it has been a cultural reference in terms of the performing arts. The old Praça de Espanha space was, for decades, the ideal place for anyone who wanted to see a good play. Since 2002, in this new location, with magnificent conditions, the public continues to enjoy excellent performances.
To say that I like it a lot is an understatement. The Aberto theater is a notable space for culture and talent. Come, please.
I had the opportunity to go see the play “O Filho” in this wonderful theater.
I arrived a little early and appreciated the fact that they had a bar/cafe inside while I waited in the waiting room.
Staff were all very friendly.
In addition to the play being fantastic, the theater room is comfortable and welcoming, has good visibility (taking into account that they are at one end) and good acoustics.
The play I went to see was phenomenal, the experience in the room was a little uncomfortable (not enough space on the benches and the temperature was too high).
My experience at Teatro Aberto can be summed up in this magnificent and suffocating play, O Filho. I advise fathers and mothers to see it. Regarding the room, good visibility, excellent sound.
